9 Welcome to Nexus!
I just received last flagship Google Nexus tablet, the Nexus 9 manufactured by HTC
HTC has not been made Google Nexus devices for a while now (last with Nexus One) but it is good to see Google hiring for HTC the work of Nexus. I feel like Samsung is too damn pills that people do not want (perhaps too many different models) and really dilute the tablet market with its line of Nexus. HTC is not really big on tablets in the past, but I feel like the HTC Nexus 9 is a great example of HTC's ability to make large 9-inch tablets.
The good?
The Nexus 9 comes with metallic glasses that are felt very solid in your hands along a pixel screen 2048 × 1536, which is a great combo for a 9-inch tablet. The tablet is super-zippy (once updated the latest firmware) and offers users a pure Google experience without bloatware support. Like its predecessor Nexus 10, Nexus 9 also comes with stereo speakers (in landscape mode), which have a sound, but not as strong as I would like them to be.
For performance, Nexus 9, the latest Nvidia K1 packs 2.3GHz dual-core processor (which is not quad-core, but it is faster than most Android tablets on the market today) which is among the fastest processors found on a shelf. I should have other reference tests with Antutu but for now, say the AnTuTu scores are above 50,000, impressive.
Surprisingly, the camera on the Nexus 9 is actually one of the best I've seen on a tablet, packing 8MP front camera (with stereo recording), with front camera 1 6 megapixel. Although I hate using the tablet as a camera (as it is too large and makes you look like someone who can not afford a smartphone), the Nexus 9 can be a good backup device while traveling ( and think you get more battery so you can take more pictures / videos)
