The Sony Xperia Z5 Premium is the latest "premium" Sony smartphone and also the world's first smartphone with a 4K display. This is certainly the first attempt to display 4K world and definitely an interesting device
In this beastly device is a 4K screen of 5.5 inches, 810 Snapdragon processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, and a slot nanosim. The Xperia Z5 Premium is also fully waterproof to IP68 means that you can soak in until about 3 meters of water for 30 minutes as all Xperia Z-series phones.
Now, probably one of the biggest flaws of this 4K device is that it actually works 1080P most of the time (probably to save battery life) and the only time it works is 4K mode with video playback. 4K mode is not supported on anything else like YouTube application or other applications. If Sony could support 4K video applications like YouTube, it would have been logical, but the way it is, you can take advantage of 4K video already on your phone files.
Performance is excellent on the Z5 with Qualcomm processor 810, I have not had any problems other than the fact that it has not yet been upgraded to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. I prefer the 810 on the 808 and especially for gaming / graphics-intensive applications, the 810 really shines on 808. Software UI is not my favorite, but Sony Xperia UI solid works without delays, you can always switch the pitcher to third party launcher like Nova launcher.
With a 3430mAh battery, the battery life is too long for this phone size and 1080P certainly helps. I am able to go and half day on most days and about the Prime Z5 gets 30-50% more battery life than my Galaxy Note 5 (which has a 1440p screen). This could be why Sony chose to go with 1080P but I still feel like I'd rather have that 4K better battery life. If you're looking for long battery life, however, this is one of the best out there for that
