The display is the most avid of power equipment on your Android smartphone. Most smartphones life of the battery efficiency can be determined by measuring the SOT (screen time). But is it possible to do it in a controlled environment
If you wanted to get SOT (On-Screen-time) the results accurately, you can not do it unless you do it in an isolated environment to test the screen in real time that people use their phones differently.
For example, some people can browse the Web more often than others, perhaps watch more videos, or even play games while hours that can influence the screen on -time trials.
to more accurate tests SOT, we hereby HighOnAndroid SOT test. This test consists of reading continuously YouTube video until the battery dies. For this test enough, we set the brightness of the mid display (medium brightness) and turn off everything else, like Bluetooth / NFC but turn on WiFi. If we do this test on 4G LTE, the results will be skewed depending on your signal, it can greatly affect the life of the battery. By eliminating 4G LTE, we are able to get more accurate and consistent results for all smartphones.
For our first test HighOnAndroid SOT, we tested the Samsung Galaxy S6 and smartphones HTC One M9 Android.
results?
results are very interesting, the HTC One M9 died exactly 4 hours and 20 minutes while the Galaxy S6 lasted much longer. Because of the Galaxy S6 will survive my unboxing YouTube playlist, the test ended with Galaxy S6 to 4 hours and 55 minutes, plus 11% of the battery left.
And of course, do not forget the screen Galaxy S6 medium brightness is much brighter than the HTC One M9 to the average brightness, so if the luminosity was settled more fairly to balance screen differences, the Galaxy S6 is expected to last an hour or two more than the HTC One M9.
