I'm shopping for a new Steadicam for my Panasonic GH4 so I can add a stable movement to my videos 4K YouTube. Well, recently I was watching YouTube video on a smartphone DroidModder Shane universal stabilizer. I did it on Amazon and YouTube search a few hours trying to find the best smartphone on the market stabilizer with good reviews and good real images.
Finally, it came down to the KumbaCam 3 (which Shane review) and Laparte HHG-01. Well, one thing that concerned me was how small the battery looked on KumbaCam 3 while the battery was huge on the Laparte. On request directly Shane, he told me that the 3 KumbaCam not sag start after only 20% of the battery is exhausted. So I found myself with the Laparte HHG-01
Upon unboxing, the HHG-01 Laparte came with Chinese instructions I could not read (sorry I can not read Korean, however). To my surprise, I was able to understand how to use the KumbaCam 3 without instructions, just tether your smartphone on and hit the power button. The Laparte can start going bonkers but simply place your smartphone in a level position and begin to stabilize immediately. There are also two weights on the device you can set your smartphone to balance. And yes, Laparte comes with 3 different media, one for smaller smartphones, one for larger smartphones (I am able to adapt my Nexus 6, footnote 4, LG G4, a PlusOne, HTC One M9 very good), and one for GoPro Hero 3/4.
another thing that worried me was the engine noise as another Amazon review says the engine noise is very loud. But my Laparte never made any noise while recording (as you can see in my videos the audio directly from my phone) and could have been an older version. Make sure you take the version on Amazon here as this is the version I bought it, it is also the lowest price on Amazon
