My experience with the camcorder Sony FDR-AX33 4K was not 100% satisfactory, so I ordered another camera, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH4. This is a reflex without 4K-equipped mirror that lets you use your existing lenses Canon / Nikon SLR cameras with an adapter. Now, this is touted by many filmmakers as one of the best 4K DSLR cameras there. So I had to try it
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH4 is a fairly decent digital SLR camera. There are more buttons and features than my Canon 7D and 60D, and the touch screen is a bonus with easy live view with your Android or iOS devices. What is really interesting is that you can plug into one of your DSLR lenses using high quality lens adapters. Now you can enter a regular adapter (I recommend the Kipon) or Metabone Speed Booster for smaller F-stop (reduced by 1 f-stop), which essentially turns your goal F1.8 F0.8. Of course, from the smallest sensor GH4, it all works to be a little different, but I noticed that I could now take pictures / videos in a much darker setting. I'm actually still waiting for Metabones Speed Booster but using a cheaper Fotasy Speed Booster. Yet the results are pretty amazing, I think
Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH4 vs Sony FDR-AX33
Here is a quick comparison test I did with the Panasonic GH4 and Sony FDR -AX33 4K, if you have a 4K monitor / TV, do let me know what device you like most!
If you can not carry your DSLR equipment around with you, maybe you are a travel blogger, I would say that the Sony FDR- AX33 is an excellent choice for recording 4K video. But if you do a lot of close-up, low light, and you can carry equipment with you, the Panasonic GH4 may be the right choice. Also, if you're unfamiliar with DSLR, you may go with the Sony FDR-AX33 want because everything is almost automatic and you can begin shooting on day one. On the other hand, the video shooting with Panasonic may take a little more time to hang
