I always wanted to push the limits of smartphone cameras and how we test. In this episode, we take a drone quadcopter Phantom 2 and Galaxy Note 5 to test the OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) 4K camera Note 5.
We intentionally do not use a universal because it does not test the stability of OIS capabilities of Note 5 (that would be cheating). No stabilization was used in this video other than the OIS Note 5
The Galaxy Note 5 held very well. Fashion autofocus, it had some trouble focusing, but otherwise it was fine. In addition, there was a bit of wind around 10-15MPH (especially the scenes where drone flies over the ocean because there is more wind, it causes waves) and we were always able to get some decent shots.
I should have a drone test for every new smartphone so you can compare results. Overall, footnote 5 is definitely one of the best for stabilization and 4K
