This is AMAZING 4K video with my camera Phantom drone and Nexus 5X!
I used Adobe Premiere chain stabilizer to stabilize some shots from Nexus 5X not OIS or stabilization of any kind. But the raw version seems not bad either, you can see the non-stabilized version here
So let me note OIS on some phones like LG V10 and Sony Xperia premium Z5 actually interferes with images smoothly while Note 5 OIS working very well with the drone. It might also be a good idea to disable OIS (OIS you can turn on rooted phones) then stabilize shooting later with string stabilizer in Premiere.
Get the drone to work with my Android smartphones really took me weeks of work / tweaking you get a lot of jello effect. I do not have a universal joint on purpose so I could use the drone to test the stability of smartphone cameras, but I can get one in the future.
If you want to replicate what I did and steal your smartphone, here are all the parts I used:
Phantom 2 - Link
mountAnti-vibration - Link
Earplugs - Link (you stuff washers mounting anti-vibration rubber with those to reduce vibration, they are also the best ear plugs I have ever used I have used them in! my ears at night too)
Dr. Scholl in-soles. Link (I put those sandwiched between the vibration plates I used the memory foam, gel moon, but those. -ci work best to reduce vibration)
extended landing Gear: Link (You will need extended landing gear to accommodate a smartphone because it is much larger than a goPro)
Gopro tripod - Link .. (You will need to mount a smartphone up to the Phantom 2)
Vastar smartphone Mont -.! Link (I usually use but Reticam Mount for mounting drone, you need something lighter and shorter also, you need a mount that will not leave your phone fall, I tested around 5 different carriers and this one is the best, just slap on your smartphone and fly over the ocean without problems)
